Exhibition and symposium ‘Bouwen met heidewol’, March 14-15, De Bovenkamer, Groningen, NL
Central to the symposium was the quality and potential of Heidewol, the wool of the Drentse Heideschaap - the eldest breed of sheep in West-Europe and native mostly to the region Drenthe in the Netherlands. For this event I made the video installation ‘Lucht, licht, water’. The films focuses on the wide variety of the wool, the color nuances, shapes and textures, observed not as a static object but as something alive and in constant motion, carried by these animals which are outside and exposed to the elements day in and out, year-round.
