Lucht, licht, water
2015
On march 14 and 15 the symposium and exhibition ‘Bouwen met heidewol’ took place in the Bovenkamer in Groningen, NL. Central to the symposium was the quality and potential of Heidewol, the wool of the Drentse Heideschaap, which is the eldest breed of sheep in West-Europe and native mostly to the region Drenthe in the Netherlands. For this event I conceived of the film ‘Lucht, licht, water’. The film focuses on the wide variety of the wool, the color nuances, shapes and textures, observed not as a static object but as something alive and in constant motion, carried by these animals which are outside and exposed to the elements day in and out, year-round.
